The creation of the part, model or assembly is usually completed using additive manufacturing or more commonly known as 3D printing.

But today, the rapid prototyping has been used for a wide range of applications for plastic parts. For example, CNC machining, vacuum casting, low volume prototyping production ect.

3D printing for plastic parts

3D printing process involves parts being created layer by layer using materials such as liquid photopolymer resins (SLA), drops of photopolymer (PolyJet), plastic or metal powders (SLS/DMLS), and plastic filaments(FDM). Using a source of energy such as laser or heated extruder, layers of these materials are solidified to form the finished part, so it has a great advantage over minimal material wastage.

CNC plastic machining

CNC machining(computer Numerical Control) is a process used in the manufacturing sector which involves computers to control machine tools. Tools can be controlled in this manner including lathes, mills, routers and grinders and industries like mining, automotive, oil and gas and construction employ the benefits of CNC machining to produce parts and components that are precise and affordable.

CNC plastic machining is used to create plastic prototypes which allows your design team keep rehearsing to achieve the final product outlook and functions, and also reflect the physical validity for the dimension and complexity for the assemble steps, and finally reach the customer’s final expectations.

Vacuum casting plastic parts

Vacuum casting is applying copy technology for the small series of functional plastic parts. Using two-component polyurethanes and silicone molds, Vacuum Casting is known for its fast production of high-quality prototypes or end-use products.

Material testing

Material testing is the component analysis, measurement, non-destructive testing and environmental simulation testing of raw materials.

CMM detector

Coordinate measuring machine(CMM) measures the physical geometrical characteristics of the part. This machine may be manually controlled by an operator or computer controlled. Measurements are defined by a probe attached to the 3^rd moving axis of this machine. Probes may be mechanical, optical,laser or white light among others.

Deliver, shipping and serving

After 1-2 weeks CNC machining and surface finishes production time, the prototypes are ready for delivery.

Normally, we will listen up to customers’ decision for the delivery method. Also Honpe prototyping will recommend the courier e.g DHL(VIP), Fedex(VIP), UPS（VIP）for shipment. For each single shipment, it will take 3 days on the way from China to your country without customs delay.
